Jaundice

Jaundice- It is the chronic form of liver disorder. It causes the yellowness of skin and sclera in the eye. It is due to the liver functions derangement.

Based on its origin Jaundice has been classified as
1.Hemolytic
2.Hepatic
3.Obstructive.

Hemolytic jaundice: It is due to the over destruction of red cells or the precursor cells in the bone marrow. As the heame part of the red cells would form the bilirubin, its excessive destruction would leads to the accumulation of the bilirubin in the blood. Yet there is excessive in unconjugated bilirubin would be excessive in the blood when compared to the conjugated one.

The symptoms would shows of anaemia which would be due to the excessive red cells destruction. There would be pale stools and dark urine.

Hepatic jaundice: When the hepatic cells find difficult to transport the bilirubin and leads to the accumulation of the bilirubin within the hepatic cells thus in turn in the blood leads to jaundice.

Obstructive Jaundice: It is due to the disturbance in the hepatic cells to get transported such that to form conjugated bilirubin from the unconjugated one. If any disturbance in this mechanism would lead to the bilirubin accumulation leads to jaundic
